Our little man has been doing great. He keeps me surprisingly busy. I've been asked if I have gotten stir crazy yet. And believe it or not, I have not yet had a day when I've been bored. Now, we've only been home for a little over two weeks and I'm sure come spring I will be ready to be done with this whole "home arrest" situation, but so far I am just loving the fact that we are HOME and our little boy made it here with us.
I'm not sure if I've explained it before, but because of how premature little Brian was, he has a weak immune system. So everyone has told us to stay in and keep our little guy away from any bugs or germs. If he were to get sick it would be devastating. He's too weak to fight anything off, so our house is clean and we constantly have hand sanitizer at the ready. No day care, no church nursery, no trips to target or the grocery store. We are staying in until cold and flu season has passed. Not to mention, it's not particularly easy heading out with all your normal baby stuff... then add on your monitor, oxygen tank, spare tank and feeding tube supplies. Sheesh.
Brian and I did survive our first solo trip! We went to the eye doctor last week and everything went fairly smoothly. I had to walk laps around the waiting room for 30 minutes to keep him happy while the eye dilating medicine kicked in, but it was fine. I got my steps in and sweet boy stayed in his car seat away from all the other germy kids. Our new doctor said his eyes look great. The only lasting side affects of the eye surgery will be that he will have limited peripheral vision. That's fine with us! We're just so happy that he can see. Brian won't need to be seen for another 6 months. Woohoo!
Here's some pictures of our handsome boy.

We tried out the bumbo. He doesn't have quite the right amount of head control yet, but he loved it! |
