Baby Faye

This post is for our sweet little girl.  It's been a rough day for us.  We went through all of our Baby Faye stuff.  You know, that box we took home but quietly put in the corner of the basement and haven't dared to touch.  Well, inside we found some pretty amazing things.  There was a whole dvd of pictures that we had never seen.  Pictures the amazing people at Helen DeVos knew to take because someday, when we were ready, we'd like to see them.

You forget how small and fragile these babies were.  They let us bathe her before getting all dressed up.  I think she had Carl's mouth.

We only have a few pictures of Faye while she was still alive and doing well.  Carl was great about taking pictures.

There she is.  Our perfect little girl, just a bit too small.  Til we meet again someday!

Matthew 19:13-14

Let the Children Come to Me

13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

  2. Oh man Lauren, I can only try to imagine how difficult it was for you to go through that box today. All the details of those hours coming right back. Reminds me of my NICU days, how painfully difficult some of them were. I am so glad you were in a place that took the time and effort to give you all of those precious pieces of Faye to hold on to forever. We love you and Carl and your babies, you are wonderful parents. I bet Brian got lots of extra lovin today!

  5. Oh honey. What a beautiful post. Thank you for your bravery in sharing these pictures. She's a gorgeous girl. Your grandmother is surely holding her namesake in her arms. How sweet and thoughtful of the hospital to make such wonderful keepsakes by which to remember your precious Faye. She is so loved and will never be forgotten. You and Carl are such an inspiration. Your strength and perseverance are completely admirable. And while I realize you've done nothing out of the ordinary to your character, that's what makes you even more special. You've never complained, you've never sought pity. You took that sweet baby boy and worked tirelessly (and continue to do so!) to make sure he has the very best of everything to help him grow and heal. Your love and selflessness shines through his beautiful, happy, healthy smile. Every inch he grows, every pound he gains, every milestone he hits is a direct reflection of how amazing his parents are. We love you, Mobergs! We continue to hold you in our prayers. We miss you guys like crazy. Big hugs to that sweet baby boy for me, until I can hug him myself in a few weeks.
    Love, Brian and Katie

    1. (Oh sheesh, this "Emily, Mom" business is for when I comment on the kids' school blogs. Not sure how to change it. Sorry.)
